MCP serverAuth: Access token

How it works

Figma bridges a personal access token into an MCP server so agents can read files, design systems, variables, and comments — and optionally write comments and code links.

01

Before you start

  • A Figma account with access to the files
02

What you need to make the connection

FieldWhere to get it
Access tokenFigma → your avatar → Settings → Security → Personal access tokens → Generate new token. Choose read (and write, if you want comments).

Credentials are stored encrypted in raia Command and are never shown again after saving. Rotate them at the provider if they are exposed.

03

Setup steps

  1. 01

Generate the Figma personal access token with the scopes you need.

  2. 02

In raia Command, open Settings → Connectors, find the connector, and click Connect.

  3. 03

    Paste the token and save.

  4. 04

Attach the MCP endpoint to an agent and, optionally, restrict it to specific files.

04

Good to know

  • Read-only tokens are enough unless you want the agent to post comments.
